What'll I Do" is a song written by Irving Berlin in 1923. It's one of the few songs by Berlin that is clearly autobiographical. His fiancée, a society beauty named Ellin Mackay, had been sent to Europe by her disapproving father, a very wealthy Long Island magnate, in the hopes that MacKay would forget Berlin. (She did not and eventually they married.)
"Our" modification changes it as a reiteration of my dedication to Yonah, and the fact that, for years before he became my Life, I had simply given up on the world. Since then, I make sure that I'm in good health so that I will be with him, here, for him, for as long as he is here with me.
"I won't be alone with only dreams of you for, when you go, I'll go with you."
